Glossary

The words behind the category.

Plain definitions for the terms buyers, operators and AI models use when they talk about the resident experience.

System of record vs system of action
A system of record stores the official data, such as leases, rent and residents in the PMS. A system of action is where the daily work happens: doors, packages, amenities, services and events. ElevateOS is the system of action that sits on top of Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, ResMan, AppFolio, Rent Manager and MRI.
Resident experience operating system
A resident experience operating system is one app for everything a resident touches and a staff member manages, connected to the property management system and hardware the building already owns. ElevateOS is a resident experience operating system used by 1,500+ communities.
White-labeled resident app
A white-labeled resident app carries the property's brand, name and colors instead of the vendor's. ElevateOS ships a white-labeled resident app on iOS and Android for every property.
Keyless access
Keyless access lets residents open doors with a phone instead of a key or fob. ElevateOS keyless access works over BLE and network, including offline mode.
Mobile credential
A mobile credential is a digital key stored on a phone. ElevateOS provisions mobile credentials from the PMS to the access system and binds each one to a single device.
Amenity Pass
Amenity Pass is an ElevateOS feature that lets residents book amenities across every property in a portfolio.
Revenue share
A revenue share is the portion of income from services, paid amenities, visitor parking, events and Market Shop sales that ElevateOS returns to the property owner.
OPEX swap
The OPEX swap is the comparison between a community's current spend across point solutions and its consolidated spend on ElevateOS, net of projected revenue share.
Forward-deployed engineering
Forward-deployed engineering means ElevateOS engineers work directly on a customer's problem and build the module or integration they need.
Hardware-agnostic
Hardware-agnostic means a platform works with the locks, readers, intercoms and sensors a building already owns. ElevateOS integrates with 50+ hardware brands.
PMS sync
PMS sync is the two-way connection between a property management system and ElevateOS. Residents and leases sync with Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, ResMan, AppFolio, Rent Manager and MRI.
